Photos of the Red Rock Canyon Backcountry Byway
The Red Rock Canyon Backcountry Byway is a short, thirteen mile paved drive through the beautiful Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area of southern Nevada. The drive is located just outside of Las Vegas, and provides a great alternative away from the casinos and other happenings in town. Red Rock Canyon is known for large red rock formations, part of a series of sandstone peaks and walls of the Kenyon Thrust. The walls are up to 3000 feet high.
