Another River Crossing in the Side Canyon
This is one of several river crossings I had to drive through on a side trip I took off the Success Loop Scenic Drive that headed toward the Timber Creek Campground. Normally, these little river crossings are no big deal. Indeed, there often times isn't any water in the streams at all since they are fed by snowmelt. However, in May and June (or after big storms), these little streams can have quite a flow. A 4wd vehicle will usually have zero problems crossing these streams (often, a concrete pad has been laid beneath the water), but a 2wd vehicle can be more problematic. And remember, these little side roads that lead into the middle of nowhere of Nevada are a lousy place to get stuck - as it's almost a guarantee a cell phone won't work here and because traffic on these roads is, often times, non-existent.
