Grasslands in the Ruby Valley
The lower part of the Ruby Valley is a mixture of water, swamp and grassland - depending on elevation, the water table and soil. This photo shows some of the nice grasslands found in the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The mountains in the background are the Ruby Mountains, still covered in snow despite being late-May.
